6 Easy ways to make money online using your Pinterest account: How to make money on Pinterest in 2020 & beyond

1) Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is a big industry that’s worth well over $12 billion.

If you don’t have products of your own to sell on Pinterest, affiliate marketing is one of the easiest ways to make money on Pinterest. This is because you only need to find affiliate products that are in line with what your account is about and promote them on Pinterest.

Every time someone clicks through your link and makes a purchase, you’ll be paid a commission and make money from the product(s).

The good thing about affiliate marketing is that there are no limits to how many products you can promote.

There are also no initial costs required to purchase or set anything up. This is different from a business where you’d have to make the products yourself and incur extra costs such as shipping.

To get started with affiliate marketing on Pinterest, find and join affiliate marketing programs in your niche(s) and post them on your account.

I did a whole article that details how you can successfully navigate affiliate marketing and make money on Pinterest.

2) Promoting people’s products

This is another good way to make easy money on Pinterest and one that’s rarely talked about. Promoting people’s products aka doing promos is common on platforms like Instagram.

Most people start theme pages on Instagram, grow them and then charge different brands & businesses a fee to advertise their products or services on their pages.

The same is the case for Pinterest. If you already have a big Pinterest account. You can look for Brands, Businesses or even people (mostly entrepreneurs or small business owners) who don’t have a big budget to spend on Ads and offer them promo spots.

If you have a multi niche Pinterest account, this could be really profitable for you.

Look for businesses in the beauty niche and offer them promo spots in your beauty board. The same goes for hair, fashion or whichever niche you have boards in.

I’ve used this method to make money on Pinterest with my other accounts so I’m not just writing this for the sake of writing it.

3) Creating graphics for people

There are a lot of bloggers who use Pinterest to promote their blog posts. Many of them use pin graphics created in PicMonkey, Canva or Adobe Spark. However, not every blogger enjoys creating pin graphics.

Creating pin graphics can be overwhelming and time consuming unless you have templates. Which is where you come in. If graphic design is something you enjoy, offer your services to these bloggers.

You can use platforms like Fiverr, Upwork or even Facebook groups about blogging to sell your services.

4) Selling digital products

This ties in with point 3. If you’re a graphic designer and you don’t want to trade your time for money, create downloadable & customizable templates in Canva that bloggers can use.

Get creative and have package deal offers that cater to food bloggers, lifestyle bloggers and bloggers who blog about blogging.

Digital products are great because there’s no limit to the number of times you can sell them. You also get to counter having to trade time for money.

Here’s a list of other digital products you can sell on Pinterest:

a) Pinterest Marketing courses

A lot of people use Pinterest to market their products, businesses and blogs. With over 200 billion pins on the platform, figuring out the right strategies can be hard. This is where a good Pinterest Marketing Course comes in.

b) Presets

This is another great digital product idea that not many people are doing, especially on this end of the pond.

There’s a huge demand for presets created for darker skin tones and Black people in general but very few seem to be available.

If you’re a photographer or someone who’s skilled in editing, create different presets, put them up for sale on platforms like Gumroad and start marketing them.

If you’re hesitant about venturing into the international market, think local market gaps.

There are so many influencers on Instagram who’d be more than happy to pay for high quality presets.

The good thing about a good preset is that it will market itself.

Person A sees their favorite influencer using a preset they like, they make an inquiry about it, and buy it. Person C sees person B using a preset they like and well, you get the point.

c) Digital art prints

If you’re an artist who draws, paints or does illustrations, use Pinterest to market your artwork and get sales for your digital prints.

There’s also notion templates, budget planners & more.

The list of digital products you can create and sell on Pinterest is endless.

5) Selling physical products

I can dedicate a whole article to the amount of money that so many amazing brands are losing out on by not being on Pinterest. No really.

Wait, I actually did.

>>Is your business losing money by not being on Pinterest?<<

I have probably mentioned this a million times already but Pinterest is one of the few platforms which have an unmatched conversion power.

Create a Search Engine optimized Pinterest Business account, invest in a good Pinterest course that takes the guesswork out of Pinterest Marketing for you to help you learn how to market your products.

The link back to every post system offers businesses a chance to shorten the funnel system and increase conversions.

6) Dropshipping

This is also another great one that I’ve personally dabbled in. In fact, I made $2000 in my first month drop shipping using Pinterest.
